Dear Scouts and Scouters,
We felt it was important to provide you some relief during this unique time we find ourselves in. As our first payment deadline approaches for summer camp, the Blackhawk Area Council (BAC) camping committee has agreed to push the payment and campership dates back one month. With units meeting virtually at best, we understand the logistics of summer camp registration may be more difficult and hope this one month extension helps in even a small way.
The Campership Application is now due May 1 for Cubs Scouts and Scouts BSA.
The minimum $50/Scout payment is now May 15 for Scouts BSA.
The $25 discount for early full-payment is now May 15 for Scouts BSA.
All summer camp activities are currently proceeding as planned, and we are excited about the prospect to get back outdoors within the next few months. The Blackhawk Area Council is closely monitoring information from local health officials, CDC, and WHO. We are also in communication with our National stakeholders and our Council Risk Management Committee. This includes key volunteers who are both Scouts and doctors that care deeply about health and safety of Scouts. At this time, we're full speed ahead for summer camp, and although we are a friendly bunch, please recognize that a wave may be better than a handshake in this current environment.
